Cancer Awareness Fundraiser, DTE Meeting and Grosse Pointe Farms Candidate Forum

Here are some events to add to your calendar this week:

• The Grosse Pointe South Field Hockey teams will hold a pair of Stick It To Cancer games at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday. The games will raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Players will wear pink jersey's with names of survivors they wish to honor. Proceeds from the event will benefit Karmanos Cancer Institute. Donations can also be made online at  http://www.karmanos.org/StickittoCancer.
• DTE will hold an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in Grosse Pointe Woods City Hall. A team of DTE representatives will provide an update and explanations regarding power outages in the city, and the financial investment DTE is making to fix the outage problem.
  
• The Grosse Pointe League of Women Voters of Grosse Pointe will host a pair candidate forums Wednesday in Grosse Pointe Farms City Hall. At 7 p.m., the League will hold a forum of Grosse Pointe Farms City Council candidates, and will be followed at 8:15 p.m. for the candidates for Grosse Pointe Farms/Shores Municipal Judge.
• Grosse Pointe Woods will hold Hob Nobbin with the Goblins from 6 - 8 p.m.  Friday at Lake Front Park.
