GPWSLL Welcome Home, Jazz on the Water and Summer Festival are Among the Event This Weekend in the Grosse Pointes

Little Leaguers return home, a farmers market and campout are some events planned this weekend in the Grosse Pointes.

Here are some events to look forward to this weekend:

  • Welcome home the Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League manager, coaches and players from their trip to the Little League World Series at 5 p.m. Thursday at Grosse Pointe Woods City Hall. 
  • Enjoy Jazz@FordHouse at 7 p.m. Friday featuring the Detroit Divas with a special appearance by Johnny Trudell in a tribute to Harry James. For information, and tickets, visit the Ford House website.
  • Grosse Pointe Farms will host a "Family Campout Weekend" Friday at Pier Park. The program is limited to the first 60 families and is only open to Grosse Pointe Farms families. Camping families are limited to one camp site per family due to limited space. Families must provide their own tent, dinner and snacks.  At least one parent MUST be present for the full camp.  Special programs will be offered in the evening including a family movie and campfire sing along with s'mores.  Campers will also be treated to a breakfast on Sunday morning.  Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first serve basis and must include the camp reservation form and full payment. Cost - $10.00 per person - See more at: http://www.grossepointefarms.org/#sthash.JfITAhUS.dpuf
  • The West Park Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday at Kercheval near Beaconsfield in Grosse Pointe Park.
  • The Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church will hold a summer festival from 1 - 4 p.m. Sunday.
