I followed your link to sign up and the Red Cross shows no blood drive for today at Grosse PointeRead More North. The soonest it shows one for the "GPNHS" code is December 9th. Any ideas on how to sign up?
Ahmed Ismail August 27, 2013 at 10:39 am
For anyone interested in donating blood today at North, I called the Red Cross and asked why theRead More North blood donation was not available for sign up and they advised me that they pull the drives off their website 48 hours prior to the drive date. The Red Cross recommended that I just go over to North to donate without an appointment. I just thought other readers may want this information.

I stand corrected but it's not a charity it's a subsidy privately funded and the not for profitRead More aspect pays back the investment made. Great organization but not sure it would classify as a charity that's all. I am all for it it's an awesome idea and wry well executed.

When buying canned foods, bottled juices and paper goods, always check that tiny tab below theRead More product. It will indicate cost per ounce or cost per sheet. Often the less expensive products occupy the bottom shelves. Don't automatically choose the brand name at eye level; quality can be found down below. Value is down there. Just an FYI, but the fish locations and display spots were selected by each individual sponsor. I'veRead More really loved seeing everyone around town checking them out!
Kathy Abke July 20, 2012 at 12:43 pm
I attempted to see #1 on the map and couldn't find it. I was told by employees of another businessRead More that they thought it was INSIDE the sponsor's building. Disappointing, and I didn't take the time to go in. I hope that's just a temporary decision. Free the fish! (hee hee)

I am sending a donation directly to Four Paws One Heart so they get 100% of my money rather thanRead More have the donation amount determined by a third party fundraising organization (ASA). I do not need a meal, etc. and Four Paws One Heart needs all of the donations they can receive.

Robin Thank you so much for supporting 4 Paws please know that all money raised by ASA goes to helpRead More animal rescues. We are a volunteer group that is doing our best to help in any way that we can and we hope that our organization will help many of the animal advocate groups who are not able to do fundraising and can really use any support they can get. Gina, Diana and the board of 4 paws is very appreciative of our support and we are looking forward to a long relationship of working together to help the animals in need in our community. We are all trying to do our part and in the best way that we can. Thank you again for supporting the animals in need. I will pass your message along to 4 paws.
