Services for Jane Bashara Set for Next Week
Visitation and a memorial service through A.H. Peters Funeral Home have been scheduled for Jan. 30 and 31 for the Grosse Pointe Park woman whose unexpected death was ruled a homicide by strangulation.
Grosse Pointe Park Public Safety and Detroit Police Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the death of Jane E. Bashara, who was found in the backseat of her car earlier this week in Detroit. Bashara's death has been ruled a homicide by the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office. She was strangled to death, according to the autopsy findings. Meanwhile, friends and family have been sharing their memories of her all week. First at a candlelight vigil on the front lawn of Grosse Pointe South High School and then on Facebook. News of her death has been devastating to many in the community as she was well-known, actively involved and respected.
