Police say robbers tried to take ATM by crashing van into CVS store near Grosse Pointe Farms on Friday morning.

Story Updated on Dec. 28 at 1:36 p.m. According to a report by WXYZ.com, the CVS drug store on the border of Grosse Pointe Farms at Warren and Mack Avenue was robbed by masked and armed robbers Friday morning around 7 a.m. The store is located in Detroit on the 18000 block of E. Warren. Police say the robbers, dressed in all black, crashed a white van into the front of the CVS store and attempted to steal the ATM, according to a report by the Detroit Free Press. “It appears they tried to take the ATM machine but were unsuccessful,” Detroit Police Officer Dan Donakowski told the Free Press. “They did flee with an undisclosed amount of cash, but it is uncertain at this time if the cash came from the ATM or the store.” WXYZ reports that …

Grosse Pointe Farms Police ask residents to be on the alert for two men who reportedly robbed a jogger this afternoon at gunpoint.

  Grosse Pointe Farms Public Safety Office issued a Nixle Report at 2:11 p.m. this afternoon asking residents to be on the look out for two suspects wanted for an armed robbery of a jogger near Moran and Charlevoix in Grosse Pointe Farms. Police report the robbery victim was jogging on Moran when approached by two black males who were in their early 20's, thin and under 6' tall.  First suspect was wearing a black hoodie and had a black revolver. The second suspect was wearing a black hoodie with a hat and eye glasses.  The men reportedly took a blue 1G iPod Shuffle with silver headphones by gunpoint.  Both suspects were last seen on foot north bound on Moran.  No vehicle was seen by the jogger. Woods Police May Have Robbery Suspect

Grosse Pointe Woods police believe the man who robbed a gas station last week continued his spree in other communities and may be hospitalized following a pursuit with Southfield Police in which he was shot.

Grosse Pointe Woods police are working with several other police agencies in the recent robbery of the Mobil gas station at Mack Avenue and Vernier Road, Detective Sgt. Raymond Yonkowski said. The man first robbed a 7-11 station about 3 a.m. Jan. 20, during which he stole the clerk's truck and then he arrived at the Grosse Pointe Woods gas station about 5 a.m. He brandished a handgun in both robberies and drove away on Mack Avenue. There were not any additional robberies in the several hours that followed the Grosse Pointe Woods crime, Yonkowski but then there were addtional robberies within a day or so in Centerline, Roseville and Troy that were similar in nature. Update: Help Woods Police Identify Robber

Grosse Pointe Woods police are investigating an early morning armed robbery of Mobil gas station that followed an earlier morning robbery by the same person in Warren. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 313-343-2412.

Grosse Pointe Woods police have released a still photo of an armed robber who stole $500 cash from Mobil gas station before dawn Friday. They are asking anyone with information or anyone who recognizes him to call. Police describe the man as black, 5-feet, 9-inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black cotton face mask, black hat, black jacket, blue jeans and red gloves. Detective Sgt. Raymond Yonkowski said the man drove into the Mobil gas station lot at Mack Avenue and Vernier Road from the Vernier Road entrance about 5 a.m. Friday. Gunman Robs Mobil Station in Woods

Grosse Pointe Woods police say an armed man robbed the gas station on Vernier and Mack early Friday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call 313-343-2400.

A gunman robbed the Mobil gas station on Vernier and Mack early Friday morning, according to Grosse Pointe Woods police. The man, who was wearing a scarf and ski mask, entered the store at about 5 a.m. Armed with a semiautomatic weapon, the man then ordered the clerk to raise his hands, according to a written release by Director Andrew Pazuchowski said. He stole about $500 cash from the gas station, Det. Sgt. Raymond Yonkowski said. The man drove north on Mack Avenue when he left the station, he said.
