A Sunday regular at Bob's Big Boy in Grosse Pointe Woods celebrates his 100th birthday among friends, staff and other regulars.
For a time on Friday, the Big Boy restaurant in Grosse Pointe Woods might have been better named Birthday Boy. About 15 Maire alumni and 300-plus students turned out to celebrate with a cake, a balloon-bearing, big, stuffed bear--Maire's mascot is the …

Dozens of residents gathered along Lake Shore Road in Grosse Pointe Shores Sunday afternoon for the parade that kicked off the official 100th birthday party for the city.
Celebrations continued Sunday by Grosse Pointe Shores residents and officials during the official birthday party at Osius Park. The day began with a parade along Lake Shore Road from the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House to the park. In addition to live music from a bagpiper band and the South Lake High School Marching Band, the parade includes many local celebrities, such as the National Coney Island chef and Big Boy. Several elected officials including Grosse Pointe Shores councilmen Ted Kedzierski, Dan Schulte, Brian Geraghty, David Galbenski, State Representative Tim Bledsoe and U.S. Representative Hansen Clarke were in the parade. Clarke walked next to a car that he was suppose to be riding in to shake hands with those watching and …
