Real Estate Survey Next Step in Goldfish Research

The couple considering opening a Goldfish Swim School in the Grosse Pointe/St. Clair Shores area will begin surveying the real estate possibilities.

Alison Horrocks is a mom, a sales executive and the potential proprietor of a future Goldfish Swim School. She is the person behind the letter recently distributed to parents at a variety of area schools attempting to gather feedback from residents about whether such a business would be utilized. Horrocks moved to the City of Grosse Pointe last May with her husband and children from Ferndale. Her children took swim lessons at the Birmigham location of Goldfish, which she said is routine for families on that side of the metro area. Goldfish Swim School Considers Location in Grosse Pointe, St. Clair Shores

A franchise specializing in year-round swim lessons for children is asking for input from families in the Grosse Pointes and St. Clair Shores to determine whether such a business in the area would be beneficial.

A year-round swim school located in five other Michigan cities is asking for input from parents in the Grosse Pointes and St. Clair Shores about whether having a franchise in the area would be beneficial. Goldfish Swim School is trying to gain as much feedback as possible while researching whether to open a location in the Grosse Pointe-St. Clair Shores area, according to a letter recently given to parents at Assumption Nursery School. Parents are asked in the letter to complete a short survey online, which is estimated to take about two minutes. Along with the survey, parents are asked to express how they would feel about having a Goldfish location in the area. Opening a location nearby would be an estimated investment of about $1 million…

Neighborhood Club also has a curriculum and it is year round and has warm water and makes swimming fun. Sounds a little familiar. The Neighborhood Club just opened in the Village of Grosse Pointe and they offer the same exact services, but for a better price and have the same certifications as Goldfish. Seems like it may be a waste of a million dollars to provide the same exact service.   more ›
