This is the "Big Bob" of the GPN Class of 1974; the greatest class that school ever experienced. Bob Bashara was the"Big Bob" of the GPN Class of 1976. If you ever talked to any of the women from that class; they will tell you he always creeped them out. Women's intuition I guess.   more ›

So the border patrol caught some illegals working on lakeshore. LOL. Do they notice the lawn crews? Or did that slip past their watch? I wish they would just let our local cops patrol for everything and stop the wasted money on green and white cars that drive in circles. My personal favorite is the woman peeing on someone's front porch. Now that puts the last three letters in "class".   more ›

No additional pop bottle bombs were found throughout Friday after the six discovered overnight and early in the morning. Police are continuing to investigate but believe it was the work of teenagers who looked up a recipe online. No injuries were reported

Police in the Grosse Pointes believe the pop bottle bombs discovered overnight Thursday to Friday and early Friday morning were the work of teenagers who looked up recipes online. This is an opportunity to teach a kid(s) a life lesson about the damage they could do. It is NOT an opportunity to run some kid up the flagpole for putting drain cleaner in a pop bottle. The folks screaming for someone to be made an "example of" scare me. They don't demonstrate leadership or compassion. They just want to hang some kid for being dumb. This isn't an armed robbery folks...   more ›

Grosse Pointe Shores Department of Public Safety is urging residents to report anything deemed suspicious in the moment rather than waiting, which will be more helpful and have potential to help officers interrupt one of the crimes.

The investigation into a series of burglaries in Grosse Pointe Shores and in Grosse Pointe Woods continues as the list of victims grows. Fingerprint and handprint evidence gathered at the most recently burglarized homes have been sent to the Michigan State Police crime lab. As detectives await the results, which could take a while, they are urging residents in the pair of neighboring cities to be aware of what's happening next door and to report anything suspicious immediately. Detective Lt. Scott Rohr said the key factor in reporting suspicious circumstances is time. Reports made immediately allow officers to potentially interrupt the suspicious activity and determine what exactly is happening, whereas waiting to report something or …

You're right, the possibility of catching perpetrators in the act is slim. However, a more visible police presence on the neighborhood streets instead of only on Vernier and Mack might deter the thieves from attempting anything in the first place.   more ›
