Many of the little league champions for this baseball season were determined this weekend during final games. The Grosse Pointe Woods Shores Little League AAA Champions are the Rangers. They played Friday against the Mets and took the title with a 5-0 win. The Grosse Pointe A's also took the title against the Pirates in a final game Saturday with a 9-8 win. More tournaments for the other players are scheduled for mid-July, according to the organization's website.

A two-part delay Wednesday in game one of their Major League World Series to cap the season led the Grosse Pointe Woods Shores Little League to move the game to Friday. The A's won the first game in the series Friday, continuing Saturday at Ghesquiere Park. They won 7 to 2 against the Pirates in the first game, according to Sue Race. Their game began Wednesday but weather stopped the competition twice, leading to officials calling it quits for the night and rescheduling for Friday. The Pirates quickly evened the score Friday to a 2 - 2 tie, but the A's brought their bats and ultimately took the victory, Race said.
