Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins! We've seen plenty around Grosse Pointe in the last several weeks on the front stoops, in the yard or hanging from trees. Many of those have probably since been intricately carved, styled and otherwise decorated. Show off your pumpkin carving skills that will light up the night as trick-or-treaters march the sidewalks tonight. Upload photos of your Jack-O-Lanterns here.
Students filed into the Star of the Sea gymnasium for a Halloween festival Monday armed with boxed and canned foods, which they dropped off in the center of the room where a food castle was being built.
Halloween celebrations at Our Lady Star of the Sea School included costumes but also a food donation drive. The students were allowed to dress in their costume for class Monday and before going to the party in the gymnasium and a haunted laboratory they joined as a pair with their big-little brother/sister. The students dropped off dry boxed and canned foods to the center of the gymnasium, where some students worked to build a castle with the goods. This is the second year the school has conducted a food drive during Halloween celebrations, said Kerry Vlahantones, one of the event organizers. Each grade was given a specific type of food to gather. The castle is built and on display in the gymnasium while students mill around in their pairs…

Which kid in America has the most creative Halloween costume in the pumpkin patch? Event at Royal Oak Star Lanes will benefit charities founded by Lions safety Louis Delmas and Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva.
Two Detroit players plan to hit the lanes on Halloween to compete for something other than a victory on the court or field -- the opportunity to help youths in need. Safety Louis Delmas of the Detroit Lions and forward Charlie Villanueva of the Detroit Pistons will host the Bowling Spook-Tacular from 7:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. Monday at Star Lanes inside Emagine Royal Oak. The Halloween fundraiser features a player bowling tournament, costume contest where the winner will receive a high-valued item and an opportunity for fans to interact with the players, their teammates and other local and and national celebrities. Patch’s Little Pumpkin Costume Challenge with Heidi Klum needs your entries now.
Which kid in America has the most creative Halloween costume in the pumpkin patch? That's what we intend to find out with your photos and the help of celebrity judge Heidi Klum, who will select the Grand Prize winner. The Grand Prize? Patch will whisk the winner to New York or Los Angeles for a three-day, two-night trip for two that includes a meet and greet with Heidi, plus a donation of $1031 to a local charity of the winner's choice. Nine runners up will also get a $1031 donation from Patch to a local charity of their choice. Entering is easy.
