Fundraiser to Help Pay for Gianino Funeral

A fundraiser has been scheduled at Marge's Bar in Grosse Pointe Park for Tuesday, May 21, 2013, to help raise money for Sabrina Gianino's funeral. She is the Grosse Pointe Park woman whose death was ruled a homicide Friday.

Sabrina Gianino was found dead inside a Grosse Pointe Park duplex Thursday and her death was ruled a homicide by strangulation Friday following an autopsy. Now her friends and family are plannnig a fundraiser for her funeral. The fundraiser is Tuesday, May 21, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Marge's Bar on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Park--just a short distance from Platz Animal Hospital where she was the head receptionist.  Donations will go to help pay for Gianino's funeral, said Rachel Douglas via email. She was always courteous and concerned about my animals. She will be missed greatly. My condolences to her family. Medical Examiner Rules Death a Homicide in Grosse Pointe Park

Following an autopsy Friday of a 35-year-old Grosse Pointe Park woman, the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled her death a homicide. Officials are still working to have family identify her to confirm her identity.

The death of a 35-year-old Grosse Pointe Park woman found dead inside a duplex on Wayburn Street Thursday has been ruled a homicide by the Wayne County Medical Examiner's office, county spokeswoman Sarah Bazzi said.  The autopsy was performed Friday morning. Grosse Pointe Park detectives were present for the autopsy, Park Capt. David Loch said. Additionally, the manner of death was ligature strangulation, Bazzi said. This form of strangulation means her airway was cut off at her neck without being suspended.  Officials have not released the woman's identity as they are still working to have family confirm it, Bazzi said Friday afternoon via email.  She has been identified by media as Sabrina Gianino. Autopsy to Determine Cause, Manner of Death of Grosse Pointe Park Woman

Grosse Pointe Park detectives are at the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office this morning awaiting the results of an autopsy of the 35-year-old woman found dead early Thursday.  Detectives were asked to be there at 8:30 a.m. and will be there until the autopsy is complete, Capt. David Loch said early Friday. The woman, identified by media as Sabrina Gianino, was the head receptionist at Platz Animal Hospital. Bob Bashara's Exam Postponed until August

The Grosse Pointe Park man already serving a prison sentence will not appear in 36th District Court on charges related to his wife's 2012 strangulation death until late August.

Bob Bashara had been scheduled to have a preliminary exam Tuesday in 36th District Court but the hearing was rescheduled for Aug. 19 after officials reached an agreement, according to Wayne County Prosecutor's spokeswoman Maria Miller. Bashara was arraigned last week on murder and five other charges related to the January 2012 strangulation death of his wife, Jane Bashara. The charges were announced about 15 months after her body was found in the backseat of her SUV in Detroit. Bob Bashara Arraigned on Murder in Wife's Death

Bob Bashara made his first appearance Wednesday afternoon in 36th District Court on charges stemming from his wife's January 2012 strangulation death. He will return to court May 7.

A not guilty plea was entered on behalf of Bob Bashara Wednesday in 36th District Court after he was arraigned on six charges related to his wife's strangulation death in January 2012. Bashara is scheduled to return to court May 7 for a preliminary exam.  He is charged with:  If convicted, Bashara faces mandatory life in prison on the first degree murder charge; up to life on each the conspiracy, solicitation and suborning counts; 15 years for witness intimidation; and five years for obstruction of justice. Bashara requested to delay the preliminary exam date so he could have time to hire an attorney. Judge Laura A. Bob Bashara to be Arraigned Wednesday

Bob Bashara will make his first appearance in 36th District Court Wednesday on charges related to his wife's death. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced charges against Bob Bashara earlier this month.

Bob Bashara will be brought back to Detroit this week to make his first appearance in 36th District Court on new charges stemming from the January 2012 strangulation death of his wife, Jane E. Bashara.  Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced the new charges April 17 nearly 15 months after Jane Bashara's body was found in the backseat of her SUV in a residential alley in Detroit near 7 Mile and Hoover.  Bob Bashara had denied any involvement in her death, which was ruled a homcide, but he was identified as a "person of interest" early on in the investigation.  Worthy described the investigation as spanning several states, involving multiple computers and thousands of documents in addition to involving nearly 300 witnesses. Bob Bashara will be arraigned on several charges next week in the strangulation death of his wife Jane Bashara following an investigation spanning multiple states and nearly 300 witnesses.  Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced several charges early Wednesday against Bashara.
