Patch Plays: Kayak Rental Comes to Lake St. Clair
Summer is here and St. Clair Shores is coming to life with a number of outdoor activities in parks, neighborhoods and the Lake St. Clair coastline. To celebrate our love recreation, Patch is trying some of these sports.
Entrepreneur Becky Quinn has turned a hobby into a growing business on Lake St. Clair. Quinn, 27, of Harrison Township, the founder of Simple Adventures, started renting kayaks about four years ago. What started a small business with two kayaks, has grown to more than 30 kayaks that are transported to launch locations at Chapaton St. Clair Shores, Lake St. Clair Metropark and the Grosse Pointes. Currently the paddlesport rental and delivery company is part-time job for Quinn, who works full-time as the director of training and education for Northwestern Mutual.
