Harper Woods resident Lester Chambers has been arraigned on charges stemming from last Friday's shooting incident between Chambers and police at a home on Lancaster.
Harper Woods Police Chief Jim Burke released a Nixle report on Nov. 19 at 3:46 p.m. about the Nov. 16 shooting incident that put several Grosse Pointe Schools on lockdown just as they were about to end the school day. Police responded to a residence on Lancaster after receiving reports of gun shots from the home. Chambers fired a shotgun at police from inside his residence, police said. According to the Nixle report, Harper Woods District Judge Roger J. LaRose arraigned Lester Chambers of Harper Woods on Nov. 19 in District Court 32A. Chambers has been remanded to the Wayne County Jail without bond and is facing 27 felony charges issued by the Wayne County Prosecutor.
