Random Re-Registration Under Way for Grosse Pointe Schools

As part of an effort to address residency concerns brought to the Board of Education last summer, the Grosse Pointe Public School System is conducting a random re-registration process this month.

Random students throughout the Grosse Pointe Public School district are being asked to reverify their residency this month as part of an enforcement effort to ensure those enrolled actually live within the community, according to the district's website.  The random re-registration stems from concerns that were shared with the Board of Education last summer in which residents mainly from Grosse Pointe Shores accused the district of having a lax attitude about residency.  According to a brief announcement on the district's website, a random selection was performed of families throughout the district.
