A memorial service has been scheduled for stuntman Todd Green who died Sunday from injuries sustained in a fall at the Selfridge Air Show.
Selfridge Air Show officials said Tuesday they are waiting for the results of a federal investigation into a fatal accident before determining whether any changes will be made to the popular show in Harrison Township, MI. "We would be waiting for the results of the investigation, as far as seeing if anything would change for act selections." Capt. Penny Carroll, public affairs officer at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, said. The base is working with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic Safety Board in regards to the investigation. Officials at Selfridge Air National Guard Base are working with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic Safety Board to investigate Sunday's fatal accident during the Selfridge Air Show in Harrison Township, MI. During an acrobatic aircraft performance about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, civilian performer Todd Green fell nearly 200 feet while attempting to transfer from a fixed-wing aircraft to a helicopter. He died from his injuries. "The entire Selfridge family joins together in mourning the death of Mr. Green. Our hearts reach out to those who are impacted by this tragedy, including his family, friends and our many visitors who witnessed this tragic event," said Col. The Selfridge Air Show lured aviation enthusiasts Saturday to the military base in Harrison Township.
Attendees came out in droves Saturday to Selfridge Air National Guard Base to check out classic jets and currently used military fighters, both docked and in flight. Planes flying overhead included an Oregon Aero Skydancer, a Boeing B-47 Stratojet and Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, a Douglas C-47 Skytrain, WWII Bombers, T-6 Texan II, B-25 Mitchell Bomber, KC-135 Stratotanker and many others.
