Farms Police Arrest Man in Rash of Break-Ins

Grosse Pointe Farms police arrested a 29-year-old man Monday in connection with a series of thefts from vehicles that happened over the weekend.

A 29-year-old man familiar to Grosse Pointe Farms police is expected to be arraigned on charges this week related to a rash of thefts from vehicles overnight from Saturday to Sunday. Grosse Pointe Farms police arrested the man early Monday after searching his Detroit apartment and recovering at least one GPS stolen in the weekend crimes, Detective Lt. Rich Rosati said. There is additional evidence including footprint impressions gathered at one scene that match the shoe print of the man, who has a noteably large foot, and blood evidence, Rosati said. Residents in the 200 blocks of Cloverly, Merriweather and Kenwood Court reported a variety of items stolen including loose change, CDs, a GPS and sunglasses from their cars overnight Saturday …

Agree and It's not the first time. Last year they caught one of the guys breaking into cars by tracking his movements thru the GPS tether he was wearing.   more ›
