North Teachers, Students Unite to Clean Up

A teacher's consortium group created a plan to bring students and teachers together and clean up the grounds of North High School.

Grosse Pointe North High School teachers and students gathered in front of the building this week for Go Green North day in which they split into smaller groups to clean up the grounds. The activity was the brainchild of a teacher's organization, the Building Cohesion Professional Leadership Committee, said teacher Jackie Sage-Phillips. The group gathered outside the school after an early dismissal on Tuesday. Sage-Phillips estimated that 25 teachers and staff participated while another 60 students helped. Each participant was given a set of gloves and each small group was given a garbage bag. Then they dispersed to every corner of the grounds to clean up the school grounds.
