Share your pride for your veteran's service by posting his or her photo
Veterans Day--a moment to stop and think of that family member or neighbor who has served in the armed services in time of war and in peace. Less than 1 percent of America's populace of more than 311,500,000 people currently serve in our nation's military services. If you or your family member is one of these few citizens, please share with our Grosse Pointe Patch community! Post a photo and a comment about which service and when they served. Toni Stinson, Editor of Grosse Pointe Patch, is the proud wife of LtCol Benjamin Stinson, USMC and mother of two sons currently at USMC Boot Camp Parris Island.

Often the soldiers who die are recognized heavily for their service, Veteran's Day was established to recognize those who have served, survived and now live among us. Recognize a veteran you know by adding a picture to the photo gallery.
There are more than 24 million veterans who have served in the armed forces, returned and are now living among us in the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. We all know someone—a friend, a neighbor, a relative—and today is the day to recognize and appreciate them. Yes of course, they should be recognized for their significant contribution every day but today is the official established day. Grosse Pointe Patch would like to extend a huge thank you to all service men and women. To recognize the all veterans living among us, please upload a photo of a veteran you know. We've started the gallery with one photograph we believe to be relevant—eighth-graders from St. Paul Catholic School standing in front of the …
