The storm watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. Monday for Wayne County and surrounding areas. The storms may bring damaging winds and large hail to the county, including areas like Grosse Pointe, Dearborn and Downriver, according to the weather report. Dark skies are also expected throughout the week, with thunderstorms likely Tuesday and Wednesday and a 50 percent chance of rainfall Thursday, the weather service states.

The Grosse Pointe North High School Boys Swimming and Diving team defeated Dearborn Tuesday, placing the team at 3-2 in the dual meet competition.

By Michael O'Connor, Grosse Pointe North Boys Swimming and Diving Coach The Grosse Pointe North Boys Swimming and Diving Team defeated Dearborn Tuesday night by a 101-83 margin. Christian Mellos, Justin Rakowicz and Matthew Leone were double winners for North. Mellos took the 200 yard indiviual medley and the 100 yard breastroke in D2 state qualifying times. Rakowicz was victorious in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle. His time in the 500 was a D2 state qualifying time. Leone won the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. Jame McNelis notched a win in the 1 meter diving event. Season best performances were turned in in the following events: North is now 3-2 (0-2 MAC Red) in dual meet competition.

North had three individual winners: Season best performances were recorded in the following events: North is now 5-4 (2-2 MAC Red) in dual meet competition.
