The second Grosse Pointe Restaurant Week starts today and features 16 local eateries. Each restaurant is offering a unique deal to restaurant week diners.
Grosse Pointe's second restaurant week begins today, April 26, 2103, and continues through May 5. The event is organized by the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce and features 16 local restaurants, each offering a unique dining deal with respect to the week. This year the event was moved from the summer to to the spring, Chamber Director of Administration MaryJo Harris. Last year the event was held in conjunction with the unveiling of the Grosse Pointe Fish that dotted the streets of the Pointes. In its second year, the event is intended to highlight local restaurants and give everyone an opportunity to try something new, Harris said. The owners of the new Extreme Pizza on Fisher Road celebrated the grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce.
Grosse Pointe Extreme Pizza opened on Fisher Road earlier this month and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce. Grosse Pointe Mayor Dale Scrace also joined in the ribbon-cutting celebration. The restaurant chain exists in 10 states, most of which are west of Michigan. The Grosse Pointe location is the first, and currently only, location in Michigan. Grosse Pointe natives Sam Saigh, Steve Saigh and John Moran have partnered to open Extreme Pizza across from South High School at 369 Fisher Road. New eatery features specialty pizzas, including the Wham, Bam, Thank You Mammoth.
Pizza is going to extremes in Grosse Pointe. Extreme Pizza Grosse Pointe will open on Monday, Jan. 14, according to its Facebook page. The new eatery is located at 369 Fisher Road, across from Grosse Pointe South. The restaurant’s phone number is 313-881-5000. Extreme Pizza offers specialty pizzas, including the Wham, Bam, Thank You Mammoth (featuring Italian sausage, roasted red peppers and caramelized onions). Extreme Pizza delivers, and orders can be placed online. According to the company website, this is the first Extreme Pizza location in Michigan. The franchise also has locations in 11 other states.
