Dale, what are you fussing about? Keep Troy Strong said Tietz was absent. I wondered why he would have missed an important vote. Tim explained. Nobody accused Tietz of anything. What caused you to overreact, including defending Howrylak about something nobody mentioned?

This is a good idea since it is so close to so many neighborhoods.

The budget vote is the most important one of the year. I did not see the broadcast. If Tietz was absent, was a reason given?

Jerry, you are right. Scott should be given credit for running, and ought to consider running for council in the fall. And the turn out was too low, but typically is. Good luck to him.

Actually, I agree with you. The FOIA results weren't needed to affect this election. For this election we did not need to know a county commissioner and city councilman were getting together, and invited other citizens like you, to plan how to implement the state's decision to your advantage. And we sure did not need to know a city councilman was in a cozy relationship with a TV reporter, that she called him "Pumpkin" and promised to skew on screen reports his way. not for this election

FOIA is part of the cost of an open and transparent government, borne out of time when governments hid facts from citizens and citizens had no ability to get documents from the government. Dale wants the government to hide behind a veil of secrecy because of costs. Dale wants to protect officials from the light of day. Dale does not want citizens to know what officials are doing. Cancel FOIA because Dale thinks it is too expensive.

Dale, as long as I've lived here, the DIA has been tax supported, primarily by the city of Detroit. That's not unlike the Smithsonian. Talk about a tax supported institution! You get free admission there, but you can also join as a friend of the Smithsonian. And isn't the Tri-county tax meant to help stabilize the DIA while it works to conduct fundraising and establish an endowment to avoid reliance on taxes, not to "benefit the people who actually attend".
