Let's clear a few things up, if we can. There is a lot of assumptions out there specifically that the district is unaware of when students move out. Any mail that is sent to the home is returned triggering an investigation, many times the district a student moves tom requires information from our district, again letting us know the student has moved. At the secondary level, on-line registration information is mailed to the home, it will not be forwarded and students cannot register without the information. One thing I think needs to be clarified about the revivification affidavit, no proof of residency was required. It was an affidavit stating the penalties for violating the residency policy and that is what families would be signing.

Lisa C. Part of the large influx of students in 9th grade is that local parochial and some private schools only have a program that goes to 8th grade. Many district families at that point choose our high schools to continue their children's education.

Kathy Abke you are correct, at this time the only action the Board of Education has taken regarding residency is the approval of a set tuition rate for those found violating the eligibility policy. No affidavit has been presented to the board to date.

I found Ms. Kennedys speech to be very inspiring!! I also find Coach Coopers dedication to the girls on the team and his leadership as a coach and mentor to be unparalleled. For so many girls to come out on a cold Saturday morning and give of their time speaks volumes about the students of this district. Parental involvement has the biggest impact on a child's success in school, as evidenced by all the parents who participated today. I am so proud and humbled to represent this district.
