"White Mass"

'White Mass' at Our Lady Star of the Sea

Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish is
celebrating a “White Mass” for health care workers Presiding will be the
pastor, Msgr. Gary Smetanka

“White Mass” is a customary
description for a liturgy for health care workers because, traditionally they
wore or still wear white while serving patients.  It is being celebrated on a date closest to October 18, the feast day of St. Luke, one of the Gospel authors who also was a
physician and is patron saint of health care workers.
