Grosse Pointe South sophomore is batting .565 this season and already turning college scouts' heads.

Good luck trying to strike out Carmen Benedetti.
The sophomore is on fire at the plate for the varsity baseball team this season and has only struck out twice in 85 at bats.

Benedetti is currently hitting an outrageous .565 with seven home runs, 13 doubles and 45 runs batted in.
"Carmen loves baseball and has a great personality for the game," Grosse Pointe South varsity baseball coach Dan Griesbaum said. "He's cool under pressure and is a great teammate."

Benedetti plays first base and he pitches for the Blue Devils' side which took the district finals.
"Carmen is only a sophomore," said Griesbaum, "but he has many colleges interested in him already."
