Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce Named Official Host of the 2013 Grosse Pointe Santa Claus Parade

Hosting the popular community event transferring from the Grosse Pointe Village Association

GROSSE POINTE FARMS – The Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) announced that responsibility for hosting the annual Grosse Pointe Santa Claus Parade is transferring from the Grosse Pointe Village Association to the Chamber of Commerce, starting with the 2013 Parade.

The Grosse Pointe Santa Claus Parade is one of the community’s most popular events, taking place the day after Thanksgiving and running from the Grosse Pointe’s "Hill" business district through the Village of Grosse Pointe. Thousands of residents and non-residents attend the annual event.

The Chamber will be responsible for planning, promoting and raising funds for the Parade. A Parade Steering Committee, charged with broad oversight for the event, will be organized with Committee representation coming from all Grosse Pointe cities.

"We are very excited to bring the Grosse Pointe Santa Claus Parade under the Chamber umbrella," said Jennifer Palms Boettcher, President of the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce. "The Chamber has experience with planning and executing events of this magnitude, and it is an excellent fit for the Chamber’s new Strategic Plan."

As with other events hosted by the Chamber, the Parade will fall under the Grosse Pointe Chamber Foundation, to provide the Parade with a 501(c)(3) organization to receive tax-deductible contributions.
