This Week in Grosse Pointe: Dec. 17

Grosse Pointe Woods, Grosse Pointe Shores and GPPSS to hold regular meetings this week.

 

Here are the highlights of what's happening this week in the Grosse Pointes:

1.  Grosse Pointe Woods City Council Meeting, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

The council will discuss appointments for various commissions, a second reading of a proposed ordinance ammendment regarding solar system zoning and bid contracts for rubbish, landscaping and property assessment.

2. Grosse Pointe Public Schools Meet & Greet, Dec. 17, 6 p.m. 

GPPSS will hold a community reception for the administration’s recommended candidate for Director of Special Education Stefanie Hayes from 6 – 6:45 p.m. in the Brownell Middle School cafeteria, 260 Chalfonte, Grosse Pointe Farms. All are welcome. 

 

3.  Regular Meeting of the GPPS School Board, Dec. 17, 7 p.m.

The Grosse Pointe school board will hold its regular meeting on Monday at 7:00 p.m.  The full meeting agenda can be viewed here.

 

4.  Grosse Pointe Shores City Council Meeting, Dec. 18 at 7:00 p.m.

The council will hold a public hearing on a variance request for 529 Lake Shore Rd. as well as an MDOT resolution and Wayne County roads permits.

5.  Bedtime Stories with Santa, Dec. 17, 7:00 pm

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas when all through the Alger House, the children have gathered round the gigantic, glistening Christmas tree to hear no other than Santa himself read his favorite bedtime stories.  $ Held at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial.

 

6. Holiday Signing Story Time at GPPL, Dec. 19, 10:30 a.m.

Join the library staff for signing and winter holiday fun at The Grosse Pointe Public Library: Woods Branch. Open to children and families 3 and under. More info here.
