Grosse Pointe Runners Finish Strong in Detroit Marathon

RESULTS HAVE BEEN UPDATED

Congratulations to all the Grosse Pointe runners in Sunday's Detroit Free Press/Talmer Bank Marathon and Half Marathon.  

There were 3750 finishers in the Marathon and the average run time was 4 hours, 29 minutes, 17 seconds.  Two Russian winners were the top finishers in the men and women's categories. Viacheslav Shabunin, 43, won the men’s race in 2 hours, 25 minutes, 26 seconds. Liubov Denisova, 41, won the women’s race in 2:46:33. Each runner earned $3,000 for their win.
